Ayah 1
When occurs the Event,
English - When the Occurrence occurs, .
Ayah 2
Not at its occurrence a denial
English - There is, at its occurrence, no denial. .
Ayah 3
Bringing down, raising up,
English - It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. .
Ayah 4
When will be shaken the earth (with) a shaking,
English - When the earth is shaken with convulsion .
Ayah 5
And will be crumbled the mountains (with awful) crumbling.
English - And the mountains are broken down, crumbling .
Ayah 6
So they become dust particles dispersing.
English - And become dust dispersing. .
Ayah 7
And you will become kinds three.
English - And you become [of] three kinds: .
Ayah 8
Then (the) companions (of) the right, what (are the) companions (of) the right?
English - Then the companions of the right – what are the companions of the right? .
Ayah 9
And (the) companions (of) the left, what (are the) companions (of) the left?
English - And the companions of the left – what are the companions of the left? .
Ayah 10
And the foremost (are) the foremost,
English - And the forerunners, the forerunners – .
Ayah 11
Those (are) the nearest ones.
English - Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] .
Ayah 12
In Gardens (of) Pleasure,
English - In the Gardens of Pleasure, .
Ayah 13
A company of the former (people),
English - A [large] company of the former peoples .
Ayah 14
And a few of the later (people),
English - And a few of the later peoples, .
Ayah 15
On thrones decorated,
English - On thrones woven [with ornament], .
Ayah 16
Reclining, on them facing each other.
English - Reclining on them, facing each other. .
Ayah 17
Will circulate among them boys immortal,
English - There will circulate among them young boys made eternal .
Ayah 18
With vessels and jugs and a cup from a flowing stream,
English - With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring – .
Ayah 19
Not they will get headache therefrom and not they will get intoxicated
English - No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated – .
Ayah 20
And fruits of what they select,
English - And fruit of what they select .
Ayah 21
And (the) flesh (of) fowls of what they desire.
English - And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. .
Ayah 22
And fair ones (with) large eyes,
English - And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, .
Ayah 23
Like pearls well-protected,
English - The likenesses of pearls well-protected, .
Ayah 24
A reward for what they used (to) do.
English - As reward for what they used to do. .
Ayah 25
Not they will hear therein vain talk and not sinful (speech),
English - They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin – .
Ayah 26
Except a saying, "Peace, Peace."
English - Only a saying: "Peace, peace." .
Ayah 27
And (the) companions (of) the right, what (are the) companions (of) the right?
English - The companions of the right – what are the companions of the right? .
Ayah 28
Among lote trees thornless,
English - [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed .
Ayah 29
And banana trees layered,
English - And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] .
Ayah 30
And shade extended,
English - And shade extended .
Ayah 31
And water poured forth,
English - And water poured out .
Ayah 32
And fruit abundant,
English - And fruit, abundant [and varied], .
Ayah 33
Not limited and not forbidden,
English - Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, .
Ayah 34
And (on) couches raised.
English - And [upon] beds raised high. .
Ayah 35
Indeed, We [We] have produced them (into) a creation,
English - Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation .
Ayah 36
And We have made them virgins,
English - And made them virgins, .
Ayah 37
Devoted, equals in age.
English - Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, .
Ayah 38
For (the) companions (of) the right,
English - For the companions of the right [who are] .
Ayah 39
A company of the former people,
English - A company of the former peoples .
Ayah 40
And a company of the later people.
English - And a company of the later peoples. .
Ayah 41
And (the) companions (of) the left, what (are the) companions (of) the left?
English - And the companions of the left – what are the companions of the left? .
Ayah 42
In scorching fire and scalding water,
English - [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water .
Ayah 43
And a shade of black smoke,
English - And a shade of black smoke, .
Ayah 44
Not cool and not pleasant.
English - Neither cool nor beneficial. .
Ayah 45
Indeed, they were before that indulging in affluence.
English - Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, .
Ayah 46
And were persisting in the sin the great,
English - And they used to persist in the great violation, .
Ayah 47
And they used (to) say, "When we die and become dust and bones, will we surely be resurrected?
English - And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? .
Ayah 48
And also our fathers former?
English - And our forefathers [as well]?" .
Ayah 49
Say, "Indeed, the former and the later people
English - Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples .
Ayah 50
Surely, will be gathered for (the) appointment (of) a Day well-known."
English - Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." .
Ayah 51
"Then indeed you, O those astray! O those astray! the deniers,
English - Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, .
Ayah 52
Will surely eat from (the) tree of Zaqqum.
English - Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm .
Ayah 53
Then will fill with it the bellies,
English - And filling with it your bellies .
Ayah 54
And drink over it [from] the scalding water,
English - And drinking on top of it from scalding water .
Ayah 55
And will drink (as) drinking (of) the thirsty camels."
English - And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. .
Ayah 56
This (is) their hospitality (on the) Day (of) Judgment.
English - That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. .
Ayah 57
We [We] created you, so why (do) not you admit the truth?
English - We have created you, so why do you not believe? .
Ayah 58
Do you see what you emit?
English - Have you seen that which you emit? .
Ayah 59
Is it you who create it or (are) We the Creators?
English - Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? .
Ayah 60
We [We] have decreed among you the death and not We (are) outrun,
English - We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone .
Ayah 61
In that We (will) change your likeness[es] and produce you in what not you know.
English - In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. .
Ayah 62
And certainly you know the creation the first, so why not you take heed?
English - And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? .
Ayah 63
And do you see what you sow?
English - And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? .
Ayah 64
Is it you (who) cause it to grow or (are) We the Ones Who grow?
English - Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? .
Ayah 65
If We willed We (would) surely, make it debris, then you would remain wondering,
English - If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, .
Ayah 66
"Indeed, we surely are laden with debt,
English - [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; .
Ayah 67
Nay, we (are) deprived."
English - Rather, we have been deprived." .
Ayah 68
Do you see the water, which you drink?
English - And have you seen the water that you drink? .
Ayah 69
Is it you who send it down from the rain clouds, or We (are) the Ones to send?
English - Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? .
Ayah 70
If We willed, We (could) make it salty, then why are you not grateful? then why are you not grateful?
English - If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? .
Ayah 71
Do you see the Fire, which you ignite?
English - And have you seen the fire that you ignite? .
Ayah 72
Is it you who produced its tree or We (are) the Producers?
English - Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? .
Ayah 73
We have made it a reminder and a provision for the wayfarers in the desert.
English - We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, .
Ayah 74
So glorify (the) name (of) your Lord, the Most Great.
English - So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. .
Ayah 75
But nay, I swear by setting (of) the stars,
English - Then I swear by the setting of the stars, .
Ayah 76
And indeed, it (is) surely an oath, if you know - great,
English - And indeed, it is an oath – if you could know – [most] great. .
Ayah 77
Indeed, it (is) surely, a Quran noble,
English - Indeed, it is a noble Qur’an .
Ayah 78
In a Book well-guarded,
English - In a Register well-protected; .
Ayah 79
None touch it except the purified.
English - None touch it except the purified. .
Ayah 80
A Revelation from (the) Lord (of) the worlds.
English - [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. .
Ayah 81
Then is it to this statement that you (are) indifferent?
English - Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent .
Ayah 82
And you make your provision that you deny.
English - And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? .
Ayah 83
Then why not when it reaches the throat,
English - Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat .
Ayah 84
And you (at) that time look on,
English - And you are at that time looking on – .
Ayah 85
And We (are) nearer to him than you but you (do) not see, you (do) not see,
English - And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see – .
Ayah 86
Then why not, if you are not to be recompensed,
English - Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, .
Ayah 87
Bring it back, if you are truthful.
English - Bring it back, if you should be truthful? .
Ayah 88
Then if he was of those brought near,
English - And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, .
Ayah 89
Then rest and bounty and a Garden (of) Pleasure.
English - Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. .
Ayah 90
And if he was of (the) companions (of) the right,
English - And if he was of the companions of the right, .
Ayah 91
Then, peace for you; [from] (the) companions (of) the right.
English - Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." .
Ayah 92
But if he was of the deniers, the astray,
English - But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, .
Ayah 93
Then, hospitality of (the) scalding water,
English - Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water .
Ayah 94
And burning (in) Hellfire.
English - And burning in Hellfire .
Ayah 95
Indeed, this surely, it (is the) truth certain.
English - Indeed, this is the true certainty, .
Ayah 96
So glorify (the) name (of) your Lord, the Most Great.
English - So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. .
