Ayah 1
Asked a questioner about a punishment bound to happen
English - A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen .
Ayah 2
To the disbelievers, not of it any preventer.
English - To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. .
Ayah 3
From Allah, Owner (of) the ways of ascent.
English - [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent. .
Ayah 4
Ascend the Angels and the Spirit to Him in a Day, [is] its measure (is) fifty thousand year(s).
English - The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years. .
Ayah 5
So be patient, a patience good.
English - So be patient with gracious patience. .
Ayah 6
Indeed, they see it (as) far off.
English - Indeed, they see it [as] distant, .
Ayah 7
But We see it near.
English - But We see it [as] near. .
Ayah 8
(The) Day - will be the sky like molten copper,
English - On the Day the sky will be like murky oil, .
Ayah 9
And will be the mountains like wool,
English - And the mountains will be like wool, .
Ayah 10
And not will ask a friend (about) a friend.
English - And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend, .
Ayah 11
They will be made to see each other. Would wish the criminal if he (could be) ransomed from (the) punishment (of) that Day by his children,
English - They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children .
Ayah 12
And his spouse and his brother,
English - And his wife and his brother .
Ayah 13
And his nearest kindred who sheltered him,
English - And his nearest kindred who shelter him .
Ayah 14
And whoever (is) on the earth all, then it (could) save him.
English - And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him. .
Ayah 15
By no means! Indeed, it (is) surely a Flame of Hell,
English - No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell], .
Ayah 16
A remover of the skin of the head,
English - A remover of exteriors. .
Ayah 17
Inviting (him) who turned his back and went away
English - It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience] .
Ayah 18
And collected and hoarded.
English - And collected [wealth] and hoarded. .
Ayah 19
Indeed, the man was created anxious -
English - Indeed, mankind was created anxious: .
Ayah 20
When touches him the evil, distressed.
English - When evil touches him, impatient, .
Ayah 21
And when touches him the good, withholding,
English - And when good touches him, withholding [of it], .
Ayah 22
Except those who pray -
English - Except the observers of prayer – .
Ayah 23
Those who [they] at their prayer (are) constant,
English - Those who are constant in their prayer .
Ayah 24
And those who in their wealth (is) a right known,
English - And those within whose wealth is a known right .
Ayah 25
For the one who asks and the deprived,
English - For the petitioner and the deprived – .
Ayah 26
And those who accept (the) truth (of the) Day (of) the Judgment,
English - And those who believe in the Day of Recompense .
Ayah 27
And those who [they] of (the) punishment (of) their Lord (are) fearful -
English - And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord – .
Ayah 28
Indeed, (the) punishment (of) your Lord (is) not to be felt secure (of) -
English - Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe – .
Ayah 29
And those who [they] their modesty (are) guardians,
English - And those who guard their private parts .
Ayah 30
Except from their spouses or what they possess rightfully then indeed, they (are) not blameworthy,
English - Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed – .
Ayah 31
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those [they] (are) the transgressors -
English - But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors – .
Ayah 32
And those who [they] of their trusts and their promise (are) observers,
English - And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive .
Ayah 33
And those who [they] in their testimonies stand firm,
English - And those who are in their testimonies upright .
Ayah 34
And those who, [they] on their prayer keep a guard -
English - And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer: .
Ayah 35
Those (will be) in Gardens, honored.
English - They will be in gardens, honored. .
Ayah 36
So what is with those who disbelieve, before you (they) hasten,
English - So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad], .
Ayah 37
On the right and on the left, (in) separate groups?
English - [To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups? .
Ayah 38
Does long every person, among them that he enters a Garden (of) Delight?
English - Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure? .
Ayah 39
By no means! Indeed, We [We] have created them from what they know.
English - No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. .
Ayah 40
But nay! I swear by (the) Lord (of) the risings and the settings, that We (are) surely Able
English - So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able .
Ayah 41
[On] to [We] replace (with) better than them; and not We (are) to be outrun.
English - To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone. .
Ayah 42
So leave them (to) converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day, which they are promised,
English - So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised – .
Ayah 43
(The) Day they will come out from the graves rapidly as if they (were) to a goal hastening,
English - The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. .
Ayah 44
Humbled their eyesights, will cover them humiliation. That (is) the Day which they were promised.
English - Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised. .
