Ayah 1
By the ones sent forth, one after another,
English - By those [winds] sent forth in gusts .
Ayah 2
And the winds that blow violently,
English - And the winds that blow violently .
Ayah 3
And the ones that scatter far and wide,
English - And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] .
Ayah 4
And those who separate (by the) Criterion,
English - And those [angels] who bring criterion .
Ayah 5
And those who bring down (the) Reminder,
English - And those [angels] who deliver a message .
Ayah 6
(As) justification or warning,
English - As justification or warning, .
Ayah 7
Indeed, what you are promised will surely occur.
English - Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. .
Ayah 8
So when the stars are obliterated,
English - So when the stars are obliterated .
Ayah 9
And when the heaven is cleft asunder,
English - And when the heaven is opened .
Ayah 10
And when the mountains are blown away,
English - And when the mountains are blown away .
Ayah 11
And when the Messengers are gathered to their appointed time.
English - And when the messengers' time has come… .
Ayah 12
For what Day are (these) postponed?
English - For what Day was it postponed? .
Ayah 13
For (the) Day (of) Judgment.
English - For the Day of Judgement. .
Ayah 14
And what will make you know what (is the) Day (of) the Judgment?
English - And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? .
Ayah 15
Woe that Day to the deniers
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 16
Did not We destroy the former (people)?
English - Did We not destroy the former peoples? .
Ayah 17
Then We follow them up (with) the later ones.
English - Then We will follow them with the later ones. .
Ayah 18
Thus We deal with the criminals.
English - Thus do We deal with the criminals. .
Ayah 19
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 20
Did not We create you from a water despicable?
English - Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? .
Ayah 21
Then We placed it in an abode safe
English - And We placed it in a firm lodging .
Ayah 22
For a period known.
English - For a known extent. .
Ayah 23
So We measured, and Best (are We to) measure!
English - And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. .
Ayah 24
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 25
Have not We made the earth a receptacle
English - Have We not made the earth a container .
Ayah 26
(For the) living and (the) dead,
English - Of the living and the dead? .
Ayah 27
And We made therein firmly set mountains lofty, and We gave you to drink water - sweet?
English - And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. .
Ayah 28
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 29
"Proceed to what you used to in it deny,
English - [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. .
Ayah 30
Proceed to a shadow having three columns
English - Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns .
Ayah 31
No cool shade and not availing against the flame.
English - [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." .
Ayah 32
Indeed, it throws up sparks as the fortress,
English - Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, .
Ayah 33
As if they (were) camels yellow.
English - As if they were yellowish [black] camels. .
Ayah 34
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 35
This (is) a Day not they will speak,
English - This is a Day they will not speak, .
Ayah 36
And not will it be permitted for them to make excuses.
English - Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. .
Ayah 37
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 38
This (is the) Day (of) Judgment; We have gathered you and the former (people).
English - This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. .
Ayah 39
So if is for you a plan, then plan against Me.
English - So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. .
Ayah 40
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 41
Indeed, the righteous (will be) in shades and springs,
English - Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs .
Ayah 42
And fruits from what they desire.
English - And fruits from whatever they desire, .
Ayah 43
"Eat and drink (in) satisfaction for what you used to do."
English - [Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." .
Ayah 44
Indeed, We thus reward the good-doers.
English - Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. .
Ayah 45
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 46
Eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you (are) criminals."
English - [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals. .
Ayah 47
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 48
And when it is said to them, "Bow," not they bow.
English - And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow. .
Ayah 49
Woe that Day to the deniers.
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers. .
Ayah 50
Then in what statement after it will they believe?
English - Then in what statement after the Qur’an will they believe? .
