Ayah 1
When the sky (is) cleft asunder,
English - When the sky breaks apart .
Ayah 2
And when the stars scatter,
English - And when the stars fall, scattering, .
Ayah 3
And when the seas are made to gush forth,
English - And when the seas are erupted .
Ayah 4
And when the graves are overturned,
English - And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, .
Ayah 5
Will know a soul what it has sent forth and left behind.
English - A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. .
Ayah 6
O man! What has deceived you concerning your Lord the Most Noble,
English - O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, .
Ayah 7
Who created you, then fashioned you then balanced you?
English - Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? .
Ayah 8
In whatever form what He willed, He assembled you.
English - In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. .
Ayah 9
Nay! But you deny the Judgment.
English - No! But you deny the Recompense. .
Ayah 10
And indeed, over you (are) surely guardians,
English - And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, .
Ayah 11
Noble recording,
English - Noble and recording; .
Ayah 12
They know whatever you do.
English - They know whatever you do. .
Ayah 13
Indeed, the righteous (will be) surely in bliss,
English - Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, .
Ayah 14
And indeed, the wicked (will be) surely in Hellfire.
English - And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. .
Ayah 15
They will burn (in) it (on the) Day (of) the Judgment,
English - They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, .
Ayah 16
And not they from it (will be) absent.
English - And never therefrom will they be absent. .
Ayah 17
And what can make you know what (is the) Day (of) the Judgment?
English - And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? .
Ayah 18
Then, what can make you know what (is the) Day (of) the Judgment?
English - Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? .
Ayah 19
(The) Day not will have power a soul for a soul anything, and the Command that Day (will be) with Allah.
English - It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. .
