Ayah 1
Woe to those who give less,
English - Woe to those who give less [than due], .
Ayah 2
Those who when they take a measure from the people, they take in full,
English - Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. .
Ayah 3
But when they give by measure (to) them or they weigh (for) them they give less.
English - But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. .
Ayah 4
Do not think those that they (will be) resurrected,
English - Do they not think that they will be resurrected .
Ayah 5
For a Day Great,
English - For a tremendous Day – .
Ayah 6
(The) Day will stand mankind before (the) Lord (of) the worlds?
English - The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? .
Ayah 7
Nay! Indeed, (the) record (of) the wicked (is) surely in Sijjin.
English - No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. .
Ayah 8
And what can make you know what (is) Sijjin?
English - And what can make you know what is sijjeen? .
Ayah 9
A book written.
English - It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. .
Ayah 10
Woe that Day to the deniers,
English - Woe, that Day, to the deniers, .
Ayah 11
Those who deny (the) Day (of) the Judgment.
English - Who deny the Day of Recompense. .
Ayah 12
And not can deny [of] it except every transgressor sinful.
English - And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. .
Ayah 13
When are recited to him Our Verses, he says, "Stories (of) the former (people)."
English - When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." .
Ayah 14
Nay! But, (the) stain has covered [over] their hearts (for) what they used to earn.
English - No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. .
Ayah 15
Nay! Indeed, they from their Lord that Day surely will be partitioned.
English - No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. .
Ayah 16
Then indeed, they (surely) will burn (in) the Hellfire.
English - Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. .
Ayah 17
Then it will be said, "This (is) what you used to [of it] deny."
English - Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." .
Ayah 18
Nay! Indeed, (the) record (of) the righteous (will be) surely in Illiyin.
English - No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in ‘illiyyūn. .
Ayah 19
And what can make you know what (is) Illiyun?
English - And what can make you know what is ‘illiyyūn? .
Ayah 20
A book written,
English - It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed .
Ayah 21
Witness it those brought near.
English - Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. .
Ayah 22
Indeed, the righteous (will be) surely in bliss,
English - Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure .
Ayah 23
On thrones observing.
English - On adorned couches, observing. .
Ayah 24
You will recognize in their faces (the) radiance (of) bliss.
English - You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. .
Ayah 25
They will be given to drink of a pure wine sealed,
English - They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. .
Ayah 26
Its seal (will be of) musk. And for that let aspire the aspirers.
English - The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. .
Ayah 27
And its mixture (is) of Tasneem,
English - And its mixture is of Tasneem, .
Ayah 28
A spring, will drink from it, those brought near.
English - A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. .
Ayah 29
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to at those who believed laugh.
English - Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. .
Ayah 30
And when they passed by them, they winked at one another.
English - And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. .
Ayah 31
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.
English - And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. .
Ayah 32
And when they saw them, they said, "Indeed, these surely have gone astray."
English - And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." .
Ayah 33
But not they had been sent over them (as) guardians.
English - But they had not been sent as guardians over them. .
Ayah 34
So today those who believed - at the disbelievers they will laugh,
English - So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, .
Ayah 35
On the thrones observing.
English - On adorned couches, observing. .
Ayah 36
Have (not) been rewarded the disbelievers (for) what they used to do?
English - Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? .
